GUEST HOSTS

TRACY CASTLEMAN, DNP, CRNA, APN-A, FAANA
Tracy, an original member of Sharon’s CRNA Fab Four, graduated from the Albany Medical School of Nurse Anesthesiology in 1991 and has practiced anesthesia in private and academic settings ever since, as well as leading SRNA educational efforts in the clinical arena. Giving back to the community is an important part of her journey and she is a regular anesthesia team member of the Hospital de la Familia medical mission every 2 years to Nuevo Progresso Guatemala bringing much-needed surgical services to an impoverished community. She has served all levels of her state association, the New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists, including president, and is currently the president of their charitable arm the NJANA CAREs. At the national level, Tracy has served on quite a few committees, including State Organizational Development, PR, The 75th Anniversary Committee, and Bylaws, but she is most proud of the AANA Mentorship Program offered to student leaders during the AANA MYA that she helped form and manage for many years. Creating opportunities for SRNAs and RNs to grow and succeed is how the future of nurse anesthesia will flourish. After 29 years of clinical practice, Tracy capped off her educational journey with a DNP in transformational leadership from Rush University in 2020 and is using this knowledge to help SRNAs implement their DNP projects at her hospital.
