CRNAs, here’s a secret: your podcast habit can earn you CE credit. Yep, that time spent with the Beyond the Mask Podcast while commuting, sweating it out, or just chilling? Totally counts.
The National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists lets you bank MAC Dev Credits for anesthesia podcasts—just make sure it’s relevant and you keep your own log.
Spotify? Apple Podcasts? They won’t track it for you. That’s your job—so log it, claim it, and watch those CE hours stack up.
How To Track Your Listening
Keep it simple: log the episodes you listen to and watch those CE credits add up. We’ve included a handy Excel spreadsheet to make tracking effortless.
Your log should capture:
- Podcast show title
- Episode title
- Length of episode (minutes)
Once you hit the number of continuing education credits you’re aiming for (up to 40 MAC Dev credits per MAC cycle), just upload your completed spreadsheet to the AANA website.
Here are the step-by-step instructions to help you breeze through documentation.
- Go to AANA.com
- Select CE and Scroll down the page and click “Submit MAC Dev Credits.”
- Select "Report MAC Dev Credits"
- Log in to your AANA account.
You will be taken to the MAC Dev Credit Page. - Click “Add New Entry.”
- Upload this completed worksheet as supporting documentation.
