On This Episode:

There’s been a big push across the country to priortize wellness in the workplace and that’s also been a focus among CRNAs.

It couldn’t have come at a better time with everything that we’ve experienced and dealt with through the first half of 2020. It’s been an emotionally and physically demanding year for many people and it’s important that we keep our own wellness in mind even when there’s so much else going on.

Even without the COVID-19 pandemic, life as a CRNA can lead to burnout for many people. The long hours and dedication to our patients will wear down even the strongest CRNAs if we don’t take the time to rest our body and our minds.

With that said, we wanted to take time on this show to promote professional wellness and help you with ways to acheive that balance. To help us accomplish this, we spent some time with NCANA President Linda Stone, DNP, CRNA to learn more about how her organization, along with the AANA, are assisting members every day.

This is an important episode that we hope will drive home the value of wellness for a long, successful career and life.

Ep 237: To DNP or Not To DNP

Many CRNAs are returning to school to earn their Post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice but is it worth it to spend the time and money to earn another degree? You can find plenty of information and discussion about DNP project topics and people that have earned their DNP, but it’s not as easy to find a thorough explanation of how to go through that process and the actual value it provides. I started listening to this podcast religiously early on in my CRNA journey, a year before applying to CRNA school. The content in this podcast was one of my most helpful resources for getting into my first choice school, Wake Forest! It has also been a huge motivator for getting involved with the AANA now and throughout my career. I highly recommend this podcast to every prospective CRNA I meet.
